Gable End Rebuilds Sydney

Gable end rebuilt with new cladding and flashing on a tiled roof in Sydney

What a gable end is

A gable end is the triangular wall section at the end of a pitched roof. Exposed to sun, wind and rain, its cladding, barge tiles and pointing break down over time and let water in. Bayfront Roofing rebuilds tired gable ends with new cladding, flashing and pointing to keep the weather out.

Signs your gable end needs work

Common signs are cracked or missing pointing along the barge tiles, loose or weathered cladding, gaps where birds or possums can get in, and damp patches on the ceiling near the end wall.

Gable end FAQs

How do you rebuild a gable end?

We strip back the damaged cladding and pointing, check what is behind it, and fit new cladding and flashing. The barge tiles are then re-bedded and re-pointed so the edge of the roof is sealed and straight.

Is a leaking gable end urgent?

It is worth fixing early. Water getting in at the end wall can damage timber and stain ceilings, and the repair grows the longer it is left.

Do you do small jobs?

Yes. No job is too small, even a few loose barge tiles.
